Nearly Summer!!

Hello All!

162 days until the big wedding day!

Chris and I are both stuck working today. It is a day to be sitting by a pool with a good book. I kid you not it is about 80-85 degrees outside right now! 3 more hours here too! Blah.

To help pass the time We spent the morning talking Music. We wanted to start getting a list created of what we want to have played at our wedding. Our DJ has a website where we can see the whole song list. They also have a list of the top 400 songs. We browsed the top 400 song and picked a lot of music. So we are going to try and cut it down by telling him we like these bands, but we also would like these songs to play. Hopefuly by doing that we can cut out songs we don't really really want to hear so he isn't playing one giant playlist. We want a good variety.

Example of songs we like:
Baby Got Back - Sir Mix Alot
Its Five O'Clock Somewhere - Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffet
She's Everything - Brad Paisley
White Wedding - Billy Idol
Livin' On a Prayer - Bon Jovi
.. we like fun peppy songs and stuff that is a little silly - we want everyone to have fun after all!

Some Bands we want to hear:
The Beatles
Queen
Bon Jovi
Sean Paul
Shaggy
Shakira
David Bowie
Goo Goo Dolls
Brad Paisley
George Straight
Michael Buble
.. so a good variety really.. ^_^

Our song is going to be "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain
our intro is going to be the begining of "Shipping Off to Boston" by Drop Kick Murphy's
I want my father/daughter dance to be to "I loved her First" by Heartland

other than that idk! I think we want to do the money dance because it is a fun silly thing, we still have time to figure it out. The DJ, Ken had told us he'd get intouch about a month or so before hand to get all the song stuff figured out.

That just makes me think, EVERYONE wants to get with us a month or so before the wedding to work out the final details. That is why I really want everything booked now so we can relax this summer. September and October are going to be craaaaazy! I'll just have to hold on and try and enjoy the ride.

Hope ya'll have a nice weekend and if its hot where you are stay cool!!

Oh Happy Day..

First off, 163 days till I'm Married!!!

Chris and I finally recieved the package for our Honeymoon today from our travel agent. I have about 2lbs to go to reach my 5lb goal still. I'm trying to get up and be more active. I still haven't been getting to the gym, bad I know, but I walked Achilles for a good 30 minutes this morning. I'm going to get back on the Wii Fit tomorrow too. I think in the long run the walking more and more is my main goal this summer to help with the wait loss and with my trip to Disney World in the fall. After all we will be walking all day for 4 days in a row during that trip.

We booked our meals yesterday! We are eating dinner at the Crystal Palace on Tuesday Nov 2nd at Magic Kingdom, on Wednesday we are eating dinner at the Garden Grill in Epcot, on Thursday we are eating at the 50's Prime Time Cafe (it was our second choice) but we've heard great things, Friday is our last full day and we are going to the Animal kingdom, we are having breakfast there at the Tusker House and then Dinner in Downtown Disney at the Raglan Irish Pub which we've heard rave reviews for. I can't wait! We will be arriving on Monday afternoon so we plan to just explore our resort that day. We are staying at the Coronado Springs. Saturday is when we leave and we are going to take a late afternoon flight so we can enjoy Downtown Disney some more before we have to head home. Trying to hit 4 theme parks in 4 days is intimidating but we are excited. If it was in our budget we would have loved to stay longer but the Honeymoon is being paid by my parents so we could only do so much.

The other good news is that we found our Officiant. He actually works with us. Original we asked a man named Scott who works here and is a minister. He is unable to do it because we are getting married at 11am. Another supervisor here is also ordained though and we talked to him and he said yes! David Herzog is marrying us! So excited!!

Oh! In regards to Disney. Our Honeymoon is setup with my name being changed since I am planning to legally change it. The package paper work said Mrs. Leah Green! That made me smile too!

I am having a great day really.. I hope it keeps going!

Sugar Rush!!

Hello All! Happy Sunday! I couldn't sleep this morning so I have been up since 5:30.. not exactly the best way to start my Sunday off but on the plus side I've discovered a lot of new HD channels. I haven't watched tv in a while. Only what we record really. I love the Green channel! Go Environment!!

That was all completely off topic. I am here today to write about Cake. Yesterday Chris, My Mom and Dad and I all went to Das Meyer Fine Pastry Chalet to try tasting cakes.

Das Meyer is this cute little house in a residential area off 64h in Arvada. It has a big parking lot and is apparently very popular. They do this really neat thing, every Saturday from 10:30am to 3:30pm, they told us to be there by 11 though. It was getting really busy when we left too so I'm glad we got there when we did. This Bakery has some amaaaazing cake flavors. We tried 11 flavors I think maybe more!! We know what we will do if we go with them. We want to see one more bakery to see if they can out do their flavors and/or give us a better deal. Our cake will be awesome though no matter what, because We are happy fun people and thats what we want in our cake!

Without giving away our choices these are the flavors we tasted yesterday:
-Strawberries & Champagne
-Toll House
-Creme Brulee
-Chocolate Bailey's Irish Cream
-Chocolate Carmel Royale
-Chocolate Lover's
-Peanut Butter Cup
-Carrot Cake
-Chocolate Raspberry Truffle
-Godiva White Chocolate Liquor
-Triple White

That is what I can remember based on reading the website flavor lists.

What I liked about this place was that the cake was not super sweet. The other cake I've tasted so far, which was back in February from A Matter of Taste, was a lot sweeter and that makes you not want to eat it so much. It was delicious but Das Meyer is winning out so far. Especially because of the main flavor we've picked are delicious, unique, and not over powering.. ^_^

Oh! On the plus side.. I weighed in yesterday, with 2 more weeks till my 5lb deadline I'm right on track. I was officially down 2.6lbs!!!

Off to make breakfast, do laundry and enjoy this beautiful Sunday!

Disney World Here We Come!

I know some will be disappointed that Chris and I have fully decided on Disney World as our Honeymoon destination. In the long run what really matters is what will makes us happy. (And we can still go swimming and such at the pool at our resort : P)

I am getting really excited. Not just about Disney World, which even if it was not our Honeymoon would be very exciting, but also about wedding plans. I was feeling very stagnate in everything and now things are starting to chug right along again. We are working with a Travel Agent on our honeymoon, we are going to a cake tasting on Saturday at Das Meyer: Fine Pastry Chalet .. they have really neat looking cakes on their site and the flavors sound delish! What is really nice is that they have an open house Tasting on Saturdays between 10:30am and 3:30pm. So that is what we are going to check out. This will be bakery number 1 of 3. Actually it is 2 of 3 because in February at the Bridal Show we attended I got to try A Matter of Taste, which I loved. If Das Meyer or the other bakery we will check out in 2 weeks do not surpass what I remember of A Matter of Taste we will get our cake through them.

Literally as I have been writing this I got an email from our Photographer. Our Engagement photos are online for viewing!! We need to pick a few to make actual photos but if you are curious you can see them at this site http://web.sendtoprint.net/proofbook/login.asp and the login is th(letters)0512(numbers ie todays date is 05/12)

Yet another thing to be excited about!! I could go on and on but I need to get home and take care of Achilles.. ^_^

Check out Leah and Chris

Photography fun!

Chris and I had our Engagement photo session this afternoon with Randall the photographer we've hired for our wedding day!

We actually both go hair cuts this morning, nothing fancy we both just needed a trim and luckily it came out really nice. At 4pm we were in Golden to meet the photographer. We did a few shots outside of the studio which is this really neat old brick house. We then went over to the river and took more pictures. The whole session took about an hour. Chris and I had a lot of fun. We feel really comfortable with him. He said the photos will be up by Friday online for us to look at so we can pick what we want. I am so excited!

We have Achilles' puppy training class tonight.

I had some camera fun today too.. what do you expect.. as the blog says I am a pathological picture taker!

On the honeymoon front we have decided on Disney World. We are big kids at heart and my mom told us we could stay at one of the moderate resorts so we are looking at the Coronado Springs Resort .. we've been trying to plan everything. Sadly Matt Guseman and his wife aren't going until January. Originally our trips were overlapping so we'd have met up and had dinner one night. They go a lot and we've been getting restaurant recommendations from him. I'm excited to go its been ages and Chris has never been. One trip there just the 2 of us will be fun. The next time we go to Disney it will be with the kids. I can't wait to have kids.. but that is for another day..

Oh! Good news! I lost 1lb total this week. I'm going to work harder and hope for better results by next weekend. Wish me luck! We are going to have a cake tasting next Saturday and plan on taking a nice long walk on one of the trails around here next Sunday. I'll have to post more photos! I'll also let you know how the engagement photos came out!

Monday, Monday..

Had a great Sunday! Got a free grill from my parents (score!!) and then got to take Achilles up to Chris' Mom's Alpaca ranch for a play date with their new puppy Bandit. Bandit is 2 months old and nearly as big as Achilles. He is going to be a monster! Haha.

As always though I have new photos to share!

Achilles trying to figure out how to get out of the back and up to us in the front..

Alpacas! All the girls and their babies..

Bandit and Achilles checking each other out..

Chris took this driving back from his mom's.. it was such a nice view on the way home.. it had threatened rain and stuff all day but that evening it was starting to clear up..

Going to bbq today to try out the new(used) grill and take Achilles for a nice long walk. Got his training class tonight.

So I believe I mentioned I need to lose 5lbs to get the dress I want right? 4.5lbs to go at this point. Need to work really hard this week to drop like another 1lb before Saturday. *Fingers Crossed*

Dress stress...

Hello All! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

So Kimi, my mom and I all went to Dina's Bridal yesterday and I tried on my dress to be again as well as another one that my mom liked. I did not put any money down to order it yet though. The reason I didn't is simple. No one is truly one size. When she measured me I turned out to be 3 sizes because I'm curvy. To save money on the dress that I want I need to order it as a petite, this automatically cuts 3 inches off the bottom so i don't have to get it hemmed. To order as a petit I have to pick one size and stick to it. If I order the regular size and then try and loose weight I can say hey I want to order this size instead but then I need a lot more alerations done. My issue is that when she did my measurements I came out an 8 on top a 10 in the middle and a 12 at the hips. Haha. I'm just your typical female. I'm barely the 10 and the 12 but its enough to cause issues. So the lady suggested I try and loose 5lbs and come back in June and I can try the dress on again and she'll re-measure me. We tried a 12 of similar styled dress and the only place it fit was the hips it was too big everywhere else so I don't want to order for my hips and pay a lot of money to bring in the rest of it. *Sigh*

In honor of my trying to drop 5 lbs I gave away a bunch of the cookies that Chris and I made. They are yummy so I don't mind sharing. I'm going to bring more up to Chris's mom's house today.

Kimi and Justin stuck around for a bit yesterday. We went to lunch at Old Chicago's and I got a salad. I'm so proud. I always go for the same sandwich, one I know is way to unhealthy from all my weight watchers books. I'm going to start referencing those books again to help me pick healthier foods, I also plan on using the recipe books I have from weight watchers. I think 5lbs is very doable. In truth I'd like to loose more like 10 or 15 but 5 is a very good start.

Going to pick up a grill at my parents this morning and then going up to see Chris's Mom. She lives on an Alpaca ranch. They have a new baby Alpaca, a new puppy and 4 new kittens there. We are taking Achilles so he can run around their backyard.

Hope ya'll have a great Sunday!

All Dressed up and no where to go..

I still have an hour until my appointment. Justin just called to get directions and let us know they are on the way down. We've cleaned the apartment, showered, and even Achilles got a bath. Higgins is hiding because its day time and we were cleaning. He really doesn't like the vacuum.

The other night Chris really wanted cookies. So we looked up a recipe online for sugar cookies. It was really easy to make the dough, but it had to sit for at least an hour in the fridge, preferably over night. He made the dough on Thursday night and I made the cookies on Friday night. We only have one cookie cutter though and it is in the shape of a person. My mom gave it to me when we made ginger bread cookies for Christmas two years ago. Chris told me he'd never made cookies before! I was in shock. I know he has done the ones where you break them off and put them in the oven but from scratch like this and rolling the dough out, never! The recipe made a crazy number of cookies so we are going to have plenty for a while! Hopefully Justin and Kimi will eat a few haha.

In the spirit of the donuts I attempted to make a few weeks ago I took pictures of the cookies. .

Chris making Cookies for the first time..

The final count.. I have no idea.. but this is after we ate a few .. they are really yummy!!

My mom just called and said she is on her way. I'm really getting excited. Not just for the dress but because my Mom hasn't met Achilles yet. She wasn't thrilled that we got him. I hope she likes him. Kimi and Justin were there when we got him but he has gotten a lot bigger since then!

Not sure what else to do while I wait.. its really nice outside today but cool.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!!
